Myths and Legends : Dragon eggs
This Half Term, our topic is all about Myths, Legends and magical creatures!
Over the next few weeks in art we are going to be exploring the use of different media; including clay, felt and other materials, chalk and paper craft.
Last week we created our very own magical dragon eggs. The children enjoyed exploring texture and patterns.
We had a great time using our hands to feel the range of materials - like sand and glitter, we also had fun getting a bit messy! (although we did leave glitter trails everywhere - Sorry Miss Agassiz!)
Take a look at some of our work!

Chocolate - Artist focus: Quentin Blake
This half term our topic is 'Chocolate'. In art we have been looking at 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and Quentin Blake who illustrates Roald Dahl's books.
The children discussed the features of Quentin Blake's style and noticed that his drawings use faded colours and that his images are not necessarily 'perfect' looking.
We then created our own pieces of art in the style of Quentin Blake; using different sketching techniques, watercolour paints and ink.
The results are fantastic!

EGYPT - Canopic Jars
Over the next few weeks we are going to create our own Canopic jars, using clay and paints . Take a look at the photos to see what we have created.
