Welcome to Key Stage Two!

The Bears

In Bears (KS2), pupils are taught a broad and balanced curriculum with a creative approach. There is a focus on building core literacy and numeracy skills, closing gaps in learning and developing pupils' reading skills. We aim to develop further phonics and spelling patterns, building on prior learning.  Numeracy lessons involve developing pupils’ knowledge of the number system and the four operations and the ability to solve word problems. Pupils also learn about money, time, shape and measurement.

Children are offered breakfast when they arrive as well as a healthy snack and milk after break. A Sensory circuits programme is delivered daily where children complete a series of alerting, organising and calming activities in the morning in order for pupils to regulate and be in a place ready to learn. Pupils also have regular opportunities for sensory and movement breaks throughout the day. Children are supported by nurturing staff to develop their behaviours for learning as well as build on key social and life skills.
