Key Stage 3
Our KS3 provision aims to provide students with the support to reflect on past negative behaviours and influences and begin to embed strategies for success. Alongside this, students follow a curriculum which reflects that of a mainstream school. This includes a core syllabus of English, Maths and Science as well as weekly lessons of DT, Food, Financial Literacy, Art, PSHE and Music.
We hope for our KS3 students to only remain at WVC for a short intervention and then to be successfully placed in a school via an In Year Fair Access Panel. The length of time of a student’s placement will depend their progress and readiness to re-engage with mainstream schooling. Although academic progress is a useful indicator, our main indicator is progress pastorally monitored via the BPSDs.
