Key Stage 3
At KS3, students are taught separately from the main body of the school. The group is nurturing by nature allowing students to reflect on past negative behaviours and influences, however the curriculum taught reflects that of a mainstream school. Students study Math, English, Science, Humanities, PSHE, Music, Drama, Art, MFL, Food Technology and PE.
The aim at KS3 is for students to only remain at WVC for a short intervention and then to be returned to mainstream school via an In Year Fair Access Panel. The length of time will depend on progress made and readiness to return to mainstream school. WVC does uses academic progress as an indicator but the main indicator is progress pastorally monitored via the BPSDs.
